Where’s the Action?

In 1965, the Co-op launched its “Where’s the Action?” marketing campaign, highlighting the bank’s longstanding role as a trusted financial partner for individuals and businesses throughout Berkshire County.

We recently unearthed the original campaign graphics, featuring hand-drawn illustrations and the “Where’s the Action?” theme, which we’re happy to share with you in a limited-time branch exhibit. (Click on thumbnails below to see some of our historic ads)

While our services and approach to banking have evolved dramatically in the sixty years since the campaign debuted, our commitment and connection to the community have not. Then and today, the answer to that question is Pittsfield Cooperative Bank. And while that hasn’t changed, a lot of other things have. Here’s a look at what was trending in 1965 versus 2025.

For a little contemporary fun, we used AI to reimagine the original promotional materials using the same headline, “Where’s the Action?”.  The resulting ads pay tribute to our original efforts but showcase the personalities, passions and talents of Co-op Bank employees that make us a true community institution.
